Torn Between Desires

Dayana Sobri’s Torn Between Desires: Exploring the Depths of Mental Health and Compulsive Shopping examines the complex relationship between mental illness and shopping, specifically the impact that consumerism has on individuals struggling with anxiety disorders, depression, and compulsive buying disorders.

Through a mix of research and anecdotes, Dayana attempts to illustrate how certain individuals use shopping as a means to regulate their emotions or compensate for unmet needs, straddling the fine line between healthy indulgence and destructive behaviour.

Torn Between Desires: Exploring the Depths of Mental Health and Compulsive Shopping is available for pre-order on the Gerakbudaya site.
