The Hemlock Journal’s One Sentence Story Contest is now open!

All you have to do is write a powerful story in a single sentence in 20 words or less, meaning no question marks, exclamation marks, and full stops.

Submissions are open until August 31, 2026, with the winner getting US$50 and The Hemlock membership for one year.
